ABOUT ME

Hey! I'm Yaima Valdivia.
I'm a Principal Software Engineer with an MS in Computer Science from Georgia Tech, where I specialized in Artificial Intelligence. After graduating, I went down the rabbit hole of agentic AI and how it actually works in the wild, especially when it comes to keeping systems secure.
When I'm not deep in code, you'll probably find me with a camera in hand. Photography keeps me sane.
I'm the type who needs to know why things work the way they do, and I'm constantly poking at the edges of what's possible, whether that's in engineering, through my photography, or just in random late-night conversations about consciousness and computation.
This blog? It's where I dump my thoughts about what's happening in tech right now. No gatekeeping, no pretending I have all the answers.
Whether you're debugging your first Python script or you've been shipping code since dial-up was a thing, I'm hoping something here makes you go "huh, hadn't thought of it that way."
Tech gets way more interesting when we figure it out together. So if AI, computer science, cognitive science, or any adjacent weirdness is your thing, stick around and let's see where this goes.
